When a child tests positive
Please inform the teacher and the person in charge of your child’s maison relais without delay.
- the parents must come and collect the child as soon as possible
- the parents will be contacted by the health inspectorate and the child will be placed in isolation for 10 days.
- The child will only be able to join the maison relais at the end of this period (10 days).
The person in charge or the contact person in the relay house contacts the Coordination Unit (CECO).
When the child has had direct high-risk contact with a person who has tested positive
Please inform the teacher and the person in charge of your child’s maison relais without delay. Parents should come and collect their child as soon as possible.
- Children are invited to stop going to the Maison Relais on the recommendation of the Health Department, pending the result of the test which is carried out on the 6th day after the last contact with a person who has tested positive.
- The parents of the children concerned may apply for leave for family reasons.
- An order issued by the Health Department will be sent to the parents to allow the child to take a test.
- If the parents, for reasons beyond their control, are unable to keep their children at home, the maison relais will be able to accommodate the child if he or she does not present flu symptoms.
- The child will be isolated and will have to wear the mask if he is over 6 years old.
High-risk contact
Contact for more than 15 minutes without wearing a mask within 2 metres, occurring 48 hours before the first symptoms appear.
A self-quarantine or quarantine applies to all persons who have had high-risk contact with a positive person. If one of the parents tests positive, the children will then be considered a high-risk person!
High-risk people must stay at home for 7 days from the last contact with an infected person after the 6th day they can be tested. If the test is negative, the quarantine is over and the child can return home.
Leave for family reasons
Parents whose children have been in direct contact with a child or staff member who has tested positive will receive a quarantine order or a letter of recommendation from the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth issued by the Directorate of Health. This should be attached to the application form for leave for family reasons to be sent to the National Health Fund.
